scrubber dryer feature

Featured in the European Cleaning Journal

How important is it for a scrubber-dryer to be able to clean and dry a floor swiftly?

In every environment, efficient and effective cleaning needs to be carried out as quickly as possible, and that’s where one of the biggest benefits of using a good scrubber-dryer comes into its own. Using a scrubber-dryer thoroughly rinses and removes soiling and detergent residues from the floor with fresh water, enhancing the overall appearance and safety of the floor.

Effective on all floors from carpets to hard flooring, and escalators to entrance matting, the Multiwash™ PRO range washes, scrubs and dries in a single pass, giving improved and unrivalled cleaning results, and leaving floors ready for customers and staff to walk on in minutes.

Why is this so crucial? (i.e. to reduce labour time; cut costs, to minimise the amount of time the floor remains out of action etc).

Cleaning needs to enhance the environment rather than cause disruption, so achieving rapid results minimises the amount of “cleaning in progress” time. Easy to use machines are essential as they also contribute to time saving which also saves money. A good scrubber-dryer gives quicker, more effective cleaning than traditional methods and will also achieve excellent results with water alone, removing the need to use expensive and often potentially harmful chemicals.

In another development designed to reduce disruption and enhance health and safety by minimising the risk of trips and slips, we recently added the Multiwash™ PRO Battery to our range.

How can scrubbing and drying be sped up? For example, is it all a question of increasing brush speed and using a more powerful suction system?

Available in 24cm, 34cm and 44cm cleaning widths, the Multiwash™ PRO range’s increased brush diameter provides improved cleaning performance, delivering up to 12% more scrubbing power. Using contra-rotating cylindrical brushes, these powerful scrubber dryers scrub and lift dirt from all floor types, giving a more hygienic and deeper clean.

In addition, the new Multiwash™ PRO Steam not only provides exceptional cleaning results due to its counter-rotating brushes, but with the additional steam function, it also sanitises floors, killing up to 99.99% of bacteria.

Can ergonomics help to speed up the process because the operator will find the machine intuitive and easy to use?

We are proud that all our floorcare machines have the reputation of being simple to use and easy to maintain – and operators need to feel confident with the machines they use. As one of the leading manufacturers in the sector, we focus on ease-of-use and manoeuvrability, coupled with maximum reliability and performance.

Since the pandemic cleaning has become more of a front-of-house activity. Gone are the days when cleaning was usually carried out only at night as if it was a secret. Places such as hotel receptions or supermarkets are open 24/7 so there is no choice other than to clean while people are around. Overtly visible cleaning reassures staff and visitors, so it is also important that facilities managers choose machines which look professional, clean and well maintained – and which operatives feel proud to use.

Are there any particular types of brush/squeegee/motor that can help to enhance efficiency in operation?

The Multiwash PRO range is effective on all floors, with brushes available for carpets, hard floors, escalators and entrance matting. The additional side brush allows you to clean right up to the edge and optional trolley allows for easy transportation between sites. A 7 litre solution tank is also available for greater productivity.

What else can be done to improve productivity and hasten the process of scrubber-drying?

The Multiwash™ Pro range already does it all, but we have recently added the Multiwash™ Pro Battery for use in areas where power is limited, and the Multiwash™ Pro Steam which delivers quick and easy cleaning – saving time as the steam helps to shift stubborn marks and dirt easier then traditional cleaning methods.

While all of our machines are designed to be easy and intuitive to use, it is worth adding that once a machine has been specified and supplied, we can provide training for operatives, and that’s supported by what’s available on our website and on YouTube. All our machines are reliable, simple to use and easy to maintain. Our online training videos provided step by step guides on how to get the best from each of our machines, and we also have a training facility at our recently opened showroom in Southampton.

How do your machines help to speed up the task?

The Multiwash™ PRO range is designed to wash, scrub and dry in just one pass, leaving floors ready to walk on in seconds. It gives a quicker and more effective clean than traditional cleaning methods, as well as a more hygienic and deeper clean, allowing users to work smarter not harder!

Customers tell us how pleased they are that our machines are intuitively easy to use and maintain, and of course, they are delighted with their famed reliability.
